Civils package

Internal fit-out package

Blockwork, drylining and joinery, ceilings, kitchens and fire doors with ironmongery. Delivered at Kintore and Beauly.

Firestopping and fireproofing package

Tested systems closing out compartmentation. Delivered at Gretna and Kintore.

Painting and floor coatings

Anti-slip floor painting at Thurso and Beauly, and acid-resistant painting at the Kintore 400kV substation.

Repairs and additional works on live substations

Working inside operational assets under the client's permit systems, at the existing Beauly building and Lochay 132kV substation.

System scaffold and access

System scaffold installation and access for internal fit-out trades. Delivered at Kintore Phase 3.

Transmission substations for SSEN

Kintore 132kV Substation Phase 3, Aberdeenshire

On Phase 3 of the Kintore substation we delivered all internal fit-out works: system scaffold, blockwork, drylining and joinery, timber and suspended grid ceilings, a kitchen, fire doors with ironmongery, painting, spraying and taping, and firestopping and fireproofing. An earlier package at the Kintore 400kV Substation Phase 2 covered similar fit-out, including acid-resistant painting.

Beauly 132kV and 400/275/132kV Substations, Highland

Location: Beauly, Highland

With BAM Nuttall, PKBC delivered the full internal fit-out of the 400/275/132kV substation: blockwork, drylining and joinery, timber suspended ceilings and kitchen, fire doors with ironmongery, painting including anti-slip floor painting, and firestopping and fireproofing works.

PKBC also returned to the existing 132kV building with Global Infrastructure for repair works, including stripping and replacing the reveals to the external steel fire doors, together with painting works.

Grid stability plants for Welsh Power

At the Thurso synchronous condenser substation PKBC carried out additional works packages, including the application of anti-slip floor paint to all floors of the facility.

Gretna Grid Stability Plant, 275kV Substation, Dumfries and Galloway

At the Gretna grid stability plant on the border, PKBC carried out final grouting of the external fire wall, together with firestopping and fireproofing works.
