Our mission
Safe, right-first-time delivery of civil works and specialist packages for the UK's energy transition.
In practice, that means three tests for every shift: everyone goes home safe, the work will pass inspection first time, and the client's programme is better off for us being there. From bulk earthworks to final fit-out, that is the job.
- Everyone goes home safe, every shift
- Work that passes inspection first time
- Programmes protected on live and remote sites
Our vision
To be the first-call construction partner for energy infrastructure in England and Scotland.
When a tier-1 contractor prices a substation or a grid stability plant, we want PKBC to be the subcontractor they call first: trusted with full civil works, known for specialist trades and already proven on their sites.
We grew from fit-out packages into full civil works, and we keep growing the same way: one well-delivered package at a time.
What we hold ourselves to
Six values, applied on every site. They are how we win repeat work and how we expect to be measured.
Safety first
Nothing we build is worth an injury. Every site runs to approved RAMS with a fully CSCS-carded workforce, backed by SSIP and SMAS Worksafe accreditation. If a task cannot be done safely, it stops until it can be.
Right first time
Rework costs your programme more than it costs us, so we plan, set out and check before we build. Work is handed over snag-free and ready for audit, protecting inspection dates and energisation programmes. Our BSI-certified ISO 9001 system keeps that discipline consistent from site to site.
Partnership
We work as part of your site team: early engagement on buildability, honest programme reporting and no surprises at handover. We would rather flag a clash in week one than defend it in week twenty. Our aim is collaborative long-term relationships, not one-off packages.
Integrity
We price fairly, flag risk early and do what we said we would do, in writing. When something changes on site, you hear it from us first, with options rather than excuses. Commercial discussions stay open, evidenced and professional.
People & competence
Projects are delivered by people, so we keep experienced crews together and invest in their tickets and training. Our operatives are trained, badged and used to energy-sector inductions, permits and site rules. They travel and lodge wherever the project takes them, from Suffolk to Shetland.
Sustainability
We segregate waste, source materials responsibly and run tidy sites. The projects we build support the UK's transition to net zero, and we work to our clients' environmental requirements on every one of them.
Our commitments
Tier-1 supply chains expect more than a good price. These are the commitments we hold to on every package, and the evidence sits behind each of them.
A visible safety culture
SSIP and SMAS Worksafe accredited, with RAMS prepared and reviewed before work starts, daily briefings and a 100% CSCS-carded workforce. Anyone on a PKBC site can stop work that is not safe.
Quality you can audit
An ISO 9001 quality management system certified by BSI, with inspection records kept as the work proceeds. We hand over snag-free, with the paperwork your quality team needs.
Environmental responsibility
Waste segregated on site, responsible sourcing and working methods that respect environmental constraints. We support our clients' net-zero targets across the energy projects we deliver.
People and social value
We recruit and train locally where projects allow, invest in qualifications and pay our supply chain fairly and on time. Prequalification questions on social value get straight answers, not slogans.
